Take-home problem 3: Due 10/19 Use the following information to answer parts a-i. We will discuss this in class on 10/15 The original numbers from problem 2 were used to compute an IS curve with an AP=7061.2 and multiplier of 2.04. Using that Ap level from the IS curve of problem 2 we construct an AD curve of Y=2.04Ap+2.0(MS/P). Just as in the case of the AD curve plotted in the two dimensional graph with P and Y, the interest rate is no longer shown and the real Ms/P is used instead of the nominal Ms. The SAS curve is given to you above. It is a function of W and P. The natural level of real output is given to you as 18410.2. a. Compute the AD curve using the information above. Use a price range of 0.25, 0.8, 1, and 2 to compute AD at the different price levels b. Given W equals 50 compute the SAS curve using the same price range of 0.25, 0.8, 1, and 2. c. Given your AD and SAS curve from a&b what is the equilibrium level of P and Y? Is it a short-run equilibrium, long-run equilibrium or both? d. What is the equilibrium level of the real wage, given your answer for c. Show this graphic ally. e. Given a change in Ap from 7061.2 to 7461.2, derive the new AD curve with the information above. Assume the Ap increase is due to a change consumption and investment spending. Drive the new AD equation using the price range given above. f. Derive the new short-run equilibrium points for P and Y given the Ap change in part e. (Hint set the equations equal and solve the values) g. Explain the condition of this new equilibrium P and Y is relative to YN=18410 h. What could the Federal Reserve Bank do to keep YN and P from increasing from their original points prior to the change in AD to 7461.2 i. What could Congress do to keep the price and real GDP at the original equilibrium point prior to the AD shift.

Assignment 2: Pricing and Distribution Strategy

Assignment 2: Pricing and Distribution Strategy

Using the Internet, newspapers, and magazines find two different advertisements depicting two different products you use or would like to use in the future.

Include the advertisement in your paper by providing a URL, scan the advertisement, or describe the location of the ad (for example, its name, date, section of the newspaper or magazine), and give a complete description of the advertisement.

Review each advertisement and submit a three- to five-page paper that:

    • Indentifies and describes the nature of the product presented in both advertisements.

    • Considers the placement of the advertisement and the type of medium used to deliver the message. Analyze the target market (intended consumer) of each advertisement and describe the factors that might have influenced the marketer’s decision to place the advertisement in that medium. Explain the appropriateness of the ads in relation to their target audience.

    • Compare both of the advertisements to determine the type of buying decision that would be made for each product. Are they routine buys or habitual buys?

  • Analyze how these advertisements should be modified to better serve the target market.

McGee Carpet and Trim installs carpets in commercial offices.  Andrea McGee has been very concerned with the amount of time it took to complete several recent jobs.  Some of her workers are very unreliable.  A list of activities and their optimistic completion time, the most likely completion time, and the pessimistic completion time (all in days) for a new contract are provided in a given table.  Following are the activities that are required to install the carpets in the offices: Activity 1 (Measure office room dimensions), Activity 2 (Estimate cost), Activity 3(Material Requisition), Activity 4 (Workforce Requisition), Activity 5 (Special Tool Requisition), Activity 6(Installation), Activity 7 (Inspection and customer acceptance).

Activity 2 starts immediately after Activity 1. Activity 3Activity 4, and Activity 5 start concurrently afterActivity 2. Activity 6 does not start until after Activity 3Activity 4, and Activity 5 are completed. The carpet installation project is complete after Activity 7 is completed. If OT = Optimistic Time, MT = Most Likely Time, andPT = Pessimistic Time, use Program Evaluation Review Estimate (PERT) to compute the statistical time for each activity in the table shown below.

Also, (a) Determine the expected completion time and the variance for each activity (b) Determine the total project completion time and the critical path for the project.  (c) Determine Early Start (ES), Early Finish (EF), Late Start (LS), and slack for each activity.  What is the probability that McGee Carpet and Trim will finish the project in 40 days or less?

Define project management and the necessary requirements.

Analyze implications of changes in project scheduling.

Evaluate application of project management techniques in terms of the firm’s business operational goals and requirements.

Please submit your assignment in an APA formatted paper.

Submitting your assignment in APA format means, at a minimum, you will need the following:

The deliverable length of the body of your paper for this assignment is 2-3 pages. In-body academic citations to support your decisions and analysis are required. A variety of academic sources is encouraged.

4.

REFERENCE PAGE.  References that align with your in-body academic sources are listed on the final page of your paper. The references must be in APA format using appropriate spacing, hang indention, italics, and upper and lower case usage as appropriate for the type of resource used.
